Facilities and Communal Spaces

Please find a list of our glamping facilities below.

Heart of the Wye is a small site and we have designed our site to limit impact on the environment while keeping our facilities fresh, modern and convenient.

New communal hub

New this year!

With the departure of Off Grid Gourmet, who after many wonderful years have decided to embark on new ventures, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to reimagine the former supper club space.

We’ve already begun designing and transforming the area, and we’re excited to announce the arrival of a brand-new communal hub for our guests to enjoy.

The vision is to create a warm, versatile and sociable space, featuring a pool table, dartboard, comfortable sofa seating, a projector for film nights, an electric fireplace, a selection of board games, and flexible dining for up to 20 people. Whether you’re unwinding after a day outdoors, enjoying a cosy evening in, or coming together as a group, this new area is being designed to bring everyone together what ever the weather.

Toilets & Showers

Across the site, we have a total of three flushing toilets and three showers. While these facilities are shared, we take great pride in our commitment to keeping them clean, hygienic, and well maintained.

One of our toilets, located next to the new lounge area, is slightly larger than the other cubicles. In addition, one of our showers near the kitchen is also more spacious (and indoors). These larger facilities are particularly convenient for families with younger children.

BBQs and Fires

For a really authentic camping experience. Each yurt has its own fire pit with grill for cooking over wood or hot coals.  You will be provided with BBQ utensils, as well as some basic cooking items.  Once you have finished cooking, simply (and carefully) remove the grill and add more wood for a gorgeous camp fire as the sun sets.  Protective gloves are provided.

We also have a larger fire pit with log seating for group gatherings located at a central point at the bottom of the camping field.

Electric

There is no electricity running to the camping field.  Guests will be provided with 2 large portable batteries in their tent which will provide lighting and the opportunity to charge your phone and other devices.  These can be recharged as neccessary through out the duration of your stay.

Plug sockets are also available in the campers kitchen and lounge area.

We have provided each tent with a camp lantern which can be moved around as needed, however, we recommend bringing a torch or lantern for walking around the site in the evening.

Wifi

There is currently no WIFI access on the site, however, we find that the mobile reception in the field and communal spaces is fantastic.  One of the many benefits of being on the top of a hill!

We encourage our guests to see their break as a chance to switch off and relax.

Green practice

At Heart of the Wye we are committed to improving our sustainable practice, reducing our waste and create a positive impact on our environment.

  • Reducing/striving to eliminate our use of single use plastic.

  • Encouraging recycling at our site.

  • Working with other local businesses providing local food and drink options to our guests.

  • We keep colonies of bees here and work with bee keeping organisations through out the Wye Valley and surrounding areas.

  • All of our electricity is offset through the use of a green energy supplier.

  • We use eco friendly soaps, and cleaning products where possible.

  • In the winter our site returns back to grazing for our pet sheep.
